1) Scope & Who We Are

AskBiblically™ is a faith-based information service that surfaces biblically informed perspectives and educational reflections in response to user prompts. The Services provide informational and spiritual content only and are not a substitute for professional, medical, psychological, legal, financial, or other licensed services.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the Services.

  

2) Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide

  • Account      & Profile: name, email, password/credentials; optional profile      details.
  • User      Content: prompts, questions, notes, saved items, journal entries, and      other user-generated content (may include religious, moral, or emotional      themes).
  • Support/Feedback:      help requests, survey responses, in-app ratings/reviews.
  • Billing/Subscriptions:      subscription status and receipts provided by app stores/processors; we do      not receive full payment card numbers.

Sensitive Data Caution. Please do not submit protected health information (PHI), social security numbers, payment card numbers, or other highly sensitive identifiers within your submissions. If you choose to disclose sensitive details (including religious beliefs or emotional/mental well-being), we process that content only to provide the features you request and as described in this Policy.

B. Information Collected Automatically

  • Device      & App: device model, OS version, app version/build, language, time      zone, device identifiers, push tokens.
  • Usage      & Diagnostics: screens viewed, in-app events, session timestamps,      referral/UTM, crash logs, performance metrics.
  • Approximate      Location: derived from IP address for localization, fraud prevention, and      analytics.
  • Cookies/SDKs:      mobile SDKs (and cookies on web, if any) for authentication, analytics,      push messaging, and subscription management.

C. From Third Parties

  • App      Stores/Billing: Apple, Google, or a subscription aggregator (e.g.,      RevenueCat) provide transaction and entitlement metadata and receipts.
  • Authentication      Providers: Apple/Google provide basic identifiers if you use those sign-in      options.
  • Attribution/Marketing      (if enabled): campaign or referral identifiers and limited event data.

3) Purposes & Legal Bases (Why We Use Data)

  • Service      Delivery & Account Management (contract/legitimate interests):      create/manage accounts; personalize experiences; deliver entitlements;      provide support.
  • Payments      & Fraud Prevention (contract/legal obligations/legitimate      interests).
  • Operations,      Analytics & Improvement (legitimate interests): diagnostics,      debugging, performance monitoring, feature measurement, A/B testing.
  • Communications      (consent/legitimate interests): transactional messages (service      notices, receipts) and, where permitted, marketing/promo with controls to      opt out.
  • Security      & Compliance (legal obligations/legitimate interests): protect      users, enforce Terms, comply with law.
  • Consent-Based      Processing: where required by law (e.g., certain marketing or processing      of special-category data), we rely on your consent, which you may withdraw      at any time.

  

4) Disclosures of Information

We do not sell personal information. We disclose data only to:

  • Service      Providers/Processors bound by contract (confidentiality, security, and      data-use limits).
  • Affiliates/Change      of Control in mergers, acquisitions, or asset transfers, with notice where      required.
  • Legal/Compliance      recipients (lawful requests, court orders, enforcement of rights).
  • With      Your Direction or Consent.

  

5) Regional Availability (U.S. Only)

The Services are currently offered only to residents of the United States. We do not offer, market, or make the Services available to individuals located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom (UK), or any other jurisdiction outside the United States at this time.

  • Do not      use outside the U.S. If you are located outside the United States, do not      download, register for, access, or use the Services and do not submit      personal information to us.
  • Geo-restriction      & enforcement. We may configure app-store availability, implement      geo-restriction measures, and reject, suspend, or delete accounts we      reasonably believe are created or used from outside the United States or      that attempt to circumvent our regional restrictions.
  • Processing      location. Personal information is processed in the United States. If you      access the Services from outside the United States contrary to this      notice, you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for      compliance with local laws.
  • Future      expansion. We may expand availability to additional countries (including      the EEA/UK) in the future. If we do, we will update this Policy and      implement any region-specific requirements (e.g., representatives, consent      mechanisms).

  

6) Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as is reasonably necessary and proportionate to the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law. We apply the following retention practices:

  • Account      & App Content. While your account is active. When you use the in-app      Delete Account tool, we permanently remove your profile and user-generated      content from active systems within 30 days.
  • Transactional      & Compliance Records. Limited records (e.g., subscription receipts,      fraud/security logs, tax/audit files) are retained for up to 7 years or      longer if legally required. These records are not used for marketing.
  • Backups/Logs.      System backups and logs are retained for limited, rotating intervals and      then securely purged.
  • Marketing      Contacts (U.S.). If you opt in to marketing (or have not opted out), we      may retain your contact details for email/push marketing after account      deletion for up to 24 months of inactivity, unless you unsubscribe sooner.
  • Suppression      Records. If you unsubscribe or object to marketing, we will maintain a      minimal suppression record (e.g., email hash) solely to ensure we do not      contact you again.

We do not use religious beliefs or other sensitive information to create marketing audiences for third parties. Where required (e.g., Apple App Tracking Transparency), we will request permission before using device identifiers for ad personalization or retargeting.

6A) Marketing & Sensitive Data (U.S.)

We may use your contact details and general engagement with faith-related content to send first-party marketing about AskBiblically™ (e.g., features, content, promotions) in accordance with U.S. law and your preferences. You can opt out at any time via the unsubscribe link, in-app settings, or by contacting ourodysea@gmail.com.

We do not sell personal information and do not share religious or other sensitive information with third parties for their independent advertising. Where required (e.g., Apple App Tracking Transparency), we will request permission before using device identifiers for ad personalization or retargeting.

  

7) Your Rights & Choices

While specific rights vary by U.S. state, we provide the following controls to all users:

  • Access/Correction/Deletion.      You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal      information by emailing ourodysea@gmail.com or using in-app tools.
  • Verification.      We may require reasonable verification (e.g., email/device confirmation)      before acting on a request.
  • Authorized      agents (where allowed). If you use an authorized agent (e.g., in      California), we may require proof of authorization and ask you to verify      your identity directly.
  • Response      timelines. We strive to respond within 45 days (extendable where      permitted).
  • Appeals      (where available). If we deny your request, you may reply “Appeal,” and we      will review and respond within 45 days.

Do Not Sell/Share. We do not sell personal information and do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by California law. If that changes, we will update this Policy and provide opt-out mechanisms.

Marketing Opt-Out. You can opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link, or by contacting ourodysea@gmail.com. You can control push notifications in device settings and in-app.

Global Privacy Control (GPC). Where required by U.S. law, we honor supported browser/device signals to limit certain processing.

  

8) Security

We employ administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including encryption in transit, role-based access controls, least-privilege practices, secure development, logging/monitoring, and vulnerability remediation. No method is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach likely to affect you occurs, we will notify you as required by law.

  

9) Children’s Privacy

The Services are not intended for children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect children’s data. If we learn of such collection, we will delete it promptly.

  

10) Automated Content & Advice Disclaimers (Privacy Context)

Some content may be generated or assisted by algorithms based on your inputs and curated sources. Automated outputs can be incomplete or inaccurate and must not be used as a substitute for professional judgment.

AskBiblically™ provides faith-based, informational content only. It does not provide medical, mental health, psychological, legal, financial, safety, or other professional advice, diagnosis, treatment, or services.

  • No      Professional–Client Relationship: Using the Services does not create a      doctor–patient, therapist–client, attorney–client, accountant–client,      clergy–parishioner counseling, or similar relationship.
  • Not      for Emergencies: If you may harm yourself/others or face a medical/mental      health emergency, call your local emergency number (e.g., 911) and seek      qualified help.
  • Personal      Responsibility: You accept full responsibility for how you interpret and      act on content; seek licensed professionals for decisions in professional      domains.

  

11) Third-Party Links & Services

The Services may link to or incorporate third-party content or services. We are not responsible for third-party privacy or content. Review their policies before use.

  

12) Changes & Versioning

We may update this Policy. We will post updates with a new Effective Date and, where required, provide notice in-app or by email. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
